Betty’s cat toy

Happy 2022!

Today would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday, so in honor of her, I designed a little cat toy. I’m offering it for free, all I ask is that if you make it, you donate a dollar to your local animal shelter in honor of Betty.

Blurb loves his new toy

My cats are super hard on toys, and they prefer larger toys, so Betty’s cat toy came about. You can use pretty much any yarn you want, I’ve made several of them so far, all using scraps! This is perfect for all those scraps you have. It doesn’t take much yarn, and you can use all different weights.

You want to use a needle size or two smaller then what you would typically use, so you can get a nice tight fabric. I used 2 balls of left over sock yarn and us 6s, but for the next one I’d go down to a 5. Play around with it!

HIYA

I’m so glad you’re here! I’m KatieBea, I’ve been knitting and crocheting for about 14 years, spinning for about 10, and weaving for a few years. I also sew, quilt, cross stitch, to mention a few other crafts, and have yet to find a craft I don’t love. I recently started designing knit and crochet patterns! I designed an ebook called Quick Knit Gifts, 4 patterns that are perfect for some quick, enjoyable knit gifts, for you or someone you love!

Florean was the first one, this is a worsted weight hat, 3 sizes, fully written and charted, each size is a different color to make it easy for you to find your size. It’s a very elegant hat, perfect for all occasions! You can find it here on Ravelry to purchase!

Lumi was released last week, and this is also a worsted weight hat. Two sizes, which will fit from a 19 inch head to a 24, fully written and charted, and like all my patterns, each number for the sizes is in a different color, to make it easy for you! You can buy that here.

My dad is wearing the 2nd size, and the pronto cowlto, which will be released the 23rd. it’s a super bulky cabled cowl that is as fast as it is cozy!

This Friday, I’m releasing the rumble mitts, and I love these. I shouldn’t have favorites, but these are my favorite mitts I’ve ever designed. Ok, so, they’re my first pair of mitts I’ve designed. But still, these are so awesome. Aran weight, 3 sizes, you can make these in an afternoon or two! I haven’t taken proper photos yet, but here’s them flat.

Charted, like, super charted, I even charted the ribbing! and fully written, I’m currently making the large size for my dad for his birthday. You can save 25% by pre ordering those here!

I made those muffins, Banana mini muffins! I used this recipe. I have a lot of allergies, so I make a lot of my own food. In addition to sharing all about my crafts, I’d love to share what I’m cooking, baking, and reading! Maybe even share a few recipes I’ve created.

I’m really excited to start this blog, and hope you’ll enjoy it!

You can find me on ravelry, instagram, and twitter as ktb38, and you can sign up for my newsletter, to get exclusive coupons and hear all about my designs, here!

Stay Crafty!
